I'm not a professional, but I'm replacing an old light switch.

While I'm not a professional, I'm tackling the task of replacing an old light switch myself.

It's essential to follow safety precautions and turn off the power at the breaker before beginning any electrical work.

Then, use a screwdriver to remove the cover plate and screws holding the old switch in place. Carefully disconnect the wires from the old switch, noting their positions or taking a photo for reference.

Next, attach the wires to the corresponding terminals on the new switch and secure it in place with screws.

Finally, replace the cover plate and restore power at the breaker to test the new switch. If unsure about any step, consulting a professional electrician is advisable.
