When I select the BAKE function on my GE oven, the glowbar illuminates, but the oven fails to ignite

The glowbar in the oven serves as the igniter, which is responsible for igniting the gas to initiate the heating process.

If the glowbar glows but the oven does not ignite, it indicates a potential issue with the gas supply or the igniter itself.

First, ensure that the gas supply to the oven is turned on and that the gas valve is functioning correctly.

If the gas supply is not the issue, the problem may lie with the igniter.

Over time, igniters can weaken or fail, preventing them from generating enough heat to ignite the gas. In such cases, replacing the igniter is often necessary to restore proper functionality to the oven.

Consulting a qualified technician can help diagnose the problem accurately and ensure the appropriate steps are taken to resolve it.
